Nasreen Jessani

Nasreen Jessani is faculty at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health focusing on the nexus between health policy and systems research; innovations in evidence-informed policy and practice; and the relationship between academia and public policy. Based in Johannesburg, South Africa she provides capacity-strengthening support to WHO-SORT-IT partners globally on knowledge translation and to Schools of Public Health in East Africa. Nasreen also serves on WHO/FERG’s Knowledge Translation and Policy Group, AcademyHealth’s Translation and Dissemination Institute advisory board, and is Vice-Chair of the Evidence to Action Thematic Working Group for Health Systems Global. Previously, Nasreen was based in Kenya with Canada’s International Development Research Centre where she managed a portfolio of projects across East and Southern Africa spanning issues of knowledge translation, governance and equity in health systems.
